# An in-app AI assistant that knows the page you're on.

Ask Arclyx is the in-app AI assistant in the corner of every Arclyx page but Chat. Press Ask and it already sees the page you're on: the agent, its runs, its settings. It answers from your own data with your permissions, opens the agent, run or page you name, and drafts new agents and schedules that wait for your Confirm.

## Why put an AI assistant inside the app?

Because the question starts on a page. Why did this run fail, when does this agent run next, which agent needs me today. An assistant in another tab makes you copy the context across; the one in the corner already has it, and can take you straight to the answer.

- Without it: You paste the run into a chat to ask about it
- Without it: You click through pages to find the run that failed
- Without it: A new agent starts with a blank form
- With Arclyx: It already sees the agent, its runs and its settings
- With Arclyx: “Show me” opens the page for you
- With Arclyx: Say the job, and it drafts the agent for you to confirm

## What can Ask Arclyx do?

Four things, from whatever page you're on: answer questions about it, open any page you name, draft a new agent or schedule, and carry the conversation into Chat.

- **Answer**: Why did its last run fail? What did this run cost? Which agents need me? It answers from your agents, runs, projects, documents and usage.
- **Open**: Say “show me” and a name, and it opens that agent, run, project or chat, or a main page like Home or Activity. It only opens what you can already see.
- **Draft**: Describe a job, or when it should run, and it drafts the agent or the schedule as a card. Nothing is saved until you press Confirm.
- **Keep going**: Open in Chat moves the conversation to the full Chat page; New chat starts again on the page you're on.

## What does Ask Arclyx look like in the app?

A button marked Ask in the bottom-right corner of every page except Chat opens a card over the page; on a phone it's a sheet from the bottom. Here it's on the Agents page, drafting a new agent from one sentence.

## How does an in-app AI assistant know what page you're on?

Every question carries the page with it: its title, the text you can see, and the details behind it. Arclyx uses the page for that one question and doesn't keep it. The more a page holds, the more it sends.

- **An agent's page**: What it does, its tools, triggers and instructions, and its last five runs
- **A run's page**: The run, so you can ask what happened and why it stopped
- **A project's page**: The project, so it can look up its agents and what they did
- **Any page**: The text on screen, up to 6,000 characters; buttons and form fields are left out

## What can you ask an AI assistant about your agents?

Anything the page or your account can answer. Each page offers three starters; these are some of them, with the page that offers each.

- **Home**: “What needs me today?”
- **An agent**: “Why did its last run fail?”
- **A run**: “What did this run cost?”
- **Activity**: “Which runs failed this week?”
- **A project**: “What did its agents do this week?”

## What data can Ask Arclyx read?

Your own, under the same rules as the app's screens: if you can't open it in Arclyx, Ask can't read it.

- **Agents and runs**: Your agents, their settings and schedules, and your own runs.
- **Chats and projects**: Your chats, and the projects you can open.
- **Documents and files**: The documents, tables and files you have access to.
- **Usage**: Your usage and your plan. Admins also see the organisation's usage and its members.

## What can't Ask Arclyx do?

It reads, opens and drafts. Anything that runs or changes an agent stays with you, on the agent's page.

It can:

- Answer from your agents, runs, documents and usage
- Open an agent, run, project or chat you can see
- Draft a new agent or schedule for you to confirm
- Carry the conversation into Chat

It can't:

- Run an agent: Run it now on the agent's page does that
- Edit or delete an agent
- Connect a tool or change a setting
- Search the web, send a message or post to Slack

## Can page content take over an in-app AI assistant?

No. What's on the page goes in as data, never as instructions, and it's checked before the model reads it.

- **Data, not instructions**: The page is marked as page data, so text in a run's output or a document can't give Ask orders.
- **Checked for prompt injection**: The page runs through the same prompt-injection scan as the documents agents read, and anything it flags arrives fenced off with a warning.
- **Used once, never saved**: The page goes with that one question and isn't stored.
- **Nothing changes without you**: A drafted agent or schedule is only a card until you press Confirm.

## Questions about Ask Arclyx.

### What is an in-app AI assistant?

An AI assistant built into the app you're using. It sees the screen you're on and can act inside the app, so you ask about what's in front of you instead of explaining it.

### Is Ask Arclyx the same as Chat?

It's the same assistant in a different place. Ask sits over the page you're on and sends the page with your question; Open in Chat moves the conversation to the Chat page, where you can keep going.

### Can Ask Arclyx run my agents?

No. It reads, opens pages and drafts. Run it now on the agent's page starts a run, and schedules, webhooks and Slack mentions start agents on their own.

### Does it keep what's on my screen?

No. The page goes with that one question and isn't saved. The conversation is kept like any other chat, so you can open it in Chat later.

### Which model does it use?

Auto, unless you pick one: Arclyx picks a model for each message.

### Can it make mistakes?

Yes. A note under the conversation says so and asks you to double-check responses. Anything it would create, it drafts for you to confirm first.
